  stayed @ the hotel and we didn't want to go far for dinner. me and 2 others went down for dinner - i'll start off by saying if you're in a rush or have any time restraints, maybe hold off. we were there for almost 2 hours, when there were 2 other tables and the bar was half empty. luckily as i said we had time to kill.
  
  we got 2 orders of chicken taquitos - which were delicious and a good size per taqutio, i think there should of been 3 per plate for the $10 price point.
  
  for dinner i got a mixed greens & berry salad with chicken - it was a moderately sized portion, i wished to see more mixed greens on the plate but was happy to get more fruit. the chicken was served cold which was fine - i expected it to be warm. but it was all a good combo!
  
  my boyfriend had a t-bone steak which he said was slightly too chewy but had food flavor to it. he likes the side of garlic mashed potatoes.
  
  our friend  got the duck and basically licked the plate clean with zero complaints.
  
  we got the gouda mac and cheese with bacon & brussel sprouts to share - which were both TO DIE FOR. never have i had such good sides. our server clearly forgot to it them in though because they came out 15 minutes after our entrees. but the flavor made up for the wait.
  
  for dessert we had a strawberry short cake and it was perfect.
  
  our server was nice and knew the menu very well.

  Giving an extra star for the top notch bartender. I didn't catch her name but she was awesome! Food was typical hotel bar fare. The setup is weird having two menus; one for the bar and one for the dining room. Normally the bar menu is just an abbreviated version of the main menu, but this place had the same sized menu with about 75% of the items overlapping and the rest was totally different.  My steak was thin and overcooked, but everything else was tasty.

  The food looks good but it's very awful, my steak was tough and in-eatable the skin the spring rolls came rolled in was horrible the only highlight on the night was the desert .. either I got a clueless chef or this food is this bad on a nightly basis.

  Everything was excellent!! The restaurant smells like a pecan pie candle. Very comforting and homey atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly! We started with the kettle chips and warm blue cheese dip. 5 out of 5 stars on that! The prime rib chicken fried steak was a huge platter! Major comfort food and no problem substituting mashed potatoes for home fries. BLT was plenty stuffed and choose from several different sides. Friend got the French dip for second week in a row so must be great! Trying that next time. No complaints at all! Shocked at any bad reviews.

  My wife and I were traveling through Lubbock and needed a nice spot for dinner. Our hotel across the street recommended this spot and we're glad they did. Our waiter, Frank, was great! The food was outstanding, especially the avocado & chicken soup, black eyed peas and lamb chops with tomato grits! Unexpected for west Texas, but very well done! Those dishes could rate 5 stars in any Dallas or Houston restaurants, shame on me for not thinking that you could find as good in Lubbock!
  Well worth the time & money (not expensive at all) to find this jewel!
